VSAT

Description: VSAT is a fee based bi-directional satellite communication offered by local telecommunication companies. It is a complete internet solution through satellite. Though VSAT is a satellite based solution, the total solution involves a ground based internet link. This internet link can be a case for concern with unreliable internet. The downsides are the potential high cost of recurring fees and the large form factor of the satellite dish. VSAT is well suited for control applications in remote applications, such as SCADA.
