A range of technologies, especially alternative energy technologies have the ability to reduce energy poverty around the world. No country has been able to economically grow without providing electricity to its people and now there are new, more sustainable ways of providing these services in a cost-effective manner. Innovations such as floating solar or canal solar also show promise in terms of leveraging existing investments to generate power as well as reduce evaporation water losses.
