Description: Air temperature sensors used in automatic weather stations, most commonly measure temperature through resistance of a thermistor. As temperature changes the resistance in the thermistor changes. This change in resistance correlates to the temperature in Celsius, Farenheit or Kelvin. Temperature sensors can vary in temperature range, resolution and accuracy depending on manufacturar. Temperature sensors are commonly coupled with a radiation shield, which prevents direct sunlight from impacting the temperature of the sensor. Radiation shiled allow the sensor to read outside air, protecting the sensor form outside influences such as radiant heat, wind and rain.
